Emma Augustsson

Cellist, singer & composer
Stockholm & Gothenburg

Emma Augustsson is a cellist, singer and composer from Hedared, outside Borås, now lives in Stockholm. Her music revolves around jazz, wise, folk and classical music with its own expressive language. Collaborates often and preferably interdisciplinary within contemporary dance, theater and visual arts.

Studied at the University of Theater and Music in Gothenburg and has a master's in NAIP at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm. Active composer and improviser with a focus on experimental music in several genres. She has collaborated with, among others, Dramaten i Stockholm, Göteborgs dramatica teater, Atalante, Sveriges Radio and Magasin III, toured internationally with several different ensembles and appeared on records in a wide range of genres.

She is a member of Boulevarder av glas, the improvisation duo SWOTE, the trio Augustsson, Westlin, Egberth and is a singer in Isabell Gustafsson-Ny's ensemble. Has run the Augusta music label for a couple of years, with releases such as the cassette "Kriget", SWOTE's "Where are we going?" and Boulevarder av glas debut album "The Last Dance". Emma Augustsson is active in Gothenburg and Stockholm.
