IMPRA
toolbox

IMPRA Toolbox is a tool for you who are a student or teacher at a jazz and music education in Sweden. It is a tool to make gender and equality work more accessible, faster and more adaptable to reach greater diversity within the music industry.

The IMPRA Toolbox was created in the spring of 2021 and is a product of the lectures that have been given by IMPRA to folk high schools and music schools around Sweden. During previous lectures, participants have formulated ideas and tools about how they and their school can contribute to a more egalitarian music education.

We at IMPRA want these ideas and tools to be available to everyone, which is why the IMPRA Toolbox was created!

The toolbox is arranged in categories where there are tips and tools on how you can contribute to a more equal and equal environment, regardless of whether you are a student, teacher or in the management team of your school. You can choose how you take in the material below, you don't have to take it all in at once. It is fine to choose to read a part, reflect and work on it and then move on to another, you can skim through everything or a whole topic to work on. It is entirely up to you how you choose to adapt the material below to your university and its conditions.

IMPRA action plan

Do you want to get started right away and pass this work on to your work team or study group? Take part in IMPRA's action plan. Through this tool, you and your university can concretely decide what to work on, in what order, how to do it, who is responsible, when it should be finished and when you have reached your goal - evaluate how the work went. The action plan is free to download as a template and can be found here .

We at IMPRA hope that the IMPRA Toolbox will inspire you, that you will get concrete tools, more ideas and want to work more with gender and equality work at your school. If you feel that something is missing in an area, or if something is difficult to understand, do not hesitate to contact us if you have more ideas, thoughts or need to brainstorm ideas. You can also take a look at the Genus Conference 2021 Toolbox, where there are more tips and tools on how you can contribute to a more egalitarian music education.
