Ida Karlsson Wretling is a saxophonist and composer living in Malmö. She writes songs and arrangements mainly in the jazz genre but moves between different musical worlds. Usually with improvisation and curiosity as guiding stars. On stage, she delivers both rabid free jazz solos and velvety jazz ballads.
Ida leads the jazz quartet "IDKA Jazz" she is responsible for saxophone and clarinet playing as well as compositions.
She is also one half of Medi, plays in Fermbunken and Kathrine Windfeld Big Band and others.
Ida has, among other things, written "Haraker Suite" for the saxophone quartet Rollin' Phones and "Insomnia" for Subchamber ensemble's core duo Gerda Holmquist and Nathan Larson, as well as arranged for IdKa Jazz and Västerås Sinfonietta. Ida's saxophone can be heard on 20's records.
