Irma Neumüller writes music in both Swedish and English, where she gives new life to the traditional jazz sound with her personal touch. The music is swinging, uplifting and at times emotional. With her strong stage presence, Irma invites the entire audience into her musical world. Irma Neumüller was born in 2001 in Stockholm and began her musical journey in the classical world when she started playing the cello at the age of four. After twelve years as a cellist, she opened her eyes to jazz and its singing tradition. Irma studied at Södra Latin's high school and two years at Skurup's folk high school before moving down to Berlin, where she currently studies at the Jazz Institute Berlin. In recent years, jazz singer and composer Irma Neumüller has been successful on stages across the country. She has been appointed Scenkonst Sörmland's "Young Swedish soloist 2023", received several scholarships and was praised in Orkesterjournalen. Her debut album, “Introducing Irma Neumüller”, was released on February 23, 2024 under the label Naxos/Prophone.
