Monica Dominique is an esteemed jazz pianist, composer, arranger and conductor, educated at the Academy of Music in Stockholm. Together with her husband Carl-Axel Dominique, she often gives concerts for four-handed piano with a mixture of classical and improvised. She was a co-founder of the all-music group Solar Plexus in 1969, where her turn on the hammond organ became one of the group's main characteristics. She was also part of the singing group Gals and Pals for a period and has also collaborated with, among others Monica Zetterlund, Carla Bley, Hasse & Tage and Povel Ramel. She has composed film and theater music, choral works, big band suites and a variety of songs. One of her most performed is "Tillägnan" which was composed for her trio LP from 1980 with her brother Palle Danielsson on bass and Leroy Lowe on drums. Monica was inducted into the Swedish Music Hall of Fame in 2016.
