Sofia Lärkfors
Vocalist & composer
Stockholm
Vocalist Sofia Lärkfors received her bachelor's degree from the jazz line, majoring in vocals, at Kungl. the University of Music in the spring of 2020. During her years as a freelance musician, she has explored many different genres and expressions, such as her project with saxophonist Marcus Wärnheim where they set poems by poet Karin Boye to music and the duo with double bassist Ingrid Schyborger where they play their own jazz compositions in a stripped down format.
"Contrabassist Ingrid Schyborger and Singer Sofia Lärkfors, (...) succeeded with little means in enthralling the audience with their own and partly improvised compositions. Their interplay between voice and double bass found a fine balance between intensity and space.” - Johannes Mayer, Cultural Library Library News No. 16 2019.
In 2019, she had a solo role in the opera "Noyes Fludde" by B. Britten, which was performed at Berwaldhallen. She participates in both the choir and as a soloist (Until) on E. Einarsdotter's album "Suits for instruments and voices 1-4", which was released in February 2020.
She has written two commissioned works for the choir Chorista in the Church of the Epiphany in Hägersten, Stockholm with string quartet which was premiered on October 3, 2020.
On November 21, 2020, she released her debut album "Innan Du Faller" with vocals and string quartet. Sofia Lärkfors is active in Stockholm.
